Fusion Movement’s Student Evangelist Network partnered with local churches in Lincoln for a weekend of evangelism on campus. Students travelled in from different cities to serve together, united by a passion to make Jesus known.
The weekend was marked by worship on campus, conversations about Jesus, and a real sense of joy.
We had originally planned two sessions of on-campus mission, but when we finished the second, the students didn’t want to stop. Instead, they chose to head back out again to share Jesus with the city of Lincoln. There was a genuine hunger among the students to keep stepping out and sharing their faith.
Here are some highlights:
- One student, after hearing someone share their testimony, asked unprompted if they could pray for healing for him. Moments like this reminded us how open people are when we simply step out in faith.
- After the worship night, a late-night McDonald’s trip turned into multiple tables talking about Jesus, with conversations flowing naturally off the back of an encouraging, faith-filled evening.
- One girl had given her life to Jesus only a week before the weekend and joined us on the outreach! A week into following Jesus she was already stepping into the adventure of sharing Jesus with others.
It was a joy to partner with local churches and see students boldly living on mission. We’re expectant for all that God will continue to do in Lincoln.
And we have already seen fruit, Mads writes:
Students are already meeting up to discuss doing regular evangelism in the city centre and we cannot wait to see what God does with the new found courage amongst our students.
In fact, the day after the mission weekend, our students felt led by God to go to Waterstones, and with the courage they had built up from the weekend, made their way there.Â
In Waterstones, in the religious books section, they overheard a young couple discussing wanting to explore Church in Lincoln. The students spoke with the couple and then invited them to the evening service later that day.
Less than 2 hours later, the young couple walked through the doors of St Swithin’s Church Lincoln. They had never been prayed for before and never filled with the Holy Spirit but both boldly stepped forward for prayer at the end of the talk. As people prayed, they both began to weep as they encountered the love of Jesus. They both left utterly in awe of Jesus, hungry to know more of Him.Â
When students grow in courage and confidence in evangelism, they don’t just share their faith, they become catalysts for real Kingdom impact, seeing lives transformed in powerful and lasting ways.
